Golden Pothos (Epipremnum aureum):
A great and forgiving plant for beginners. Grows very fast in bright light, but it can also survive in lower light levels (may not grow however). It also propagates (multiplies) very easily as well!
ZZ plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia):
Tolerates low light conditions very well, does not need much water, but is somewhat of a slow grower. Propagation with leaves is time-y, but separating tubers is way faster!
Snake Plant (Dracaena trifasciata):
Similar to the ZZ plant in terms of light/watering conditions. Propagation through leaves is possible, but not nearly as fast as separating pups/offshoots
Monstera Deliciosa:
If have a lot of space and light, then monsteras might be the plant for you!
watering is more frequent than with ZZ/snake plants, but it‘s worth it to see those sweet fenestrations!
Calathea Ornata (Goeppertia ornata):
A tricky plant to master, calatheas need a lot of humidity/water, but not soggy soil. Not as beginner friendly as a Pothos/ZZ, and not as forgiving either!
Succulents:
Many different types, each with unique styles of care. Most succulents don't require intense amounts of water, and need lots of light. Propagation can be done with single leaves, but it takes quite a while as well!
Orchid (Orchidaceae):
Don't let it’s beauty fool you, this plant is a beast! Generally requires moist, but airy substrate (sphagnum moss, or orchid bark), and lighting cant be too harsh, but it can’t be too mild (otherwise it wont rebloom)
Boston Fern (Nephrolepis exaltata):
Not as beginner friendly. Ferns in general need humid environments, and their fronds get crispy if they aren’t receiving enough humidity
Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum):
One of the easier plants to care for. Light levels can vary from low to bright, but watering should be adjusted based on how much is received (more light = more water). The leaves will get limp when in need of water, a great indicator for beginners
